A Midsummer Dream

This is the second in the set of two animations done as television bumpers for holidays that we were assigned in class. This one is an image based animation for the Summer Solstice. The idea is a juxtaposition of the solstice holiday in both the northern and southern hemispheres, as well as a use of a very spiritual animal, the bear in many cultures, to best represent the spirituality of the holiday, not necessarily the scientific importance. The assets were all built in photoshop and the animation is done in After Effects.

Last Day of Ramadan

This is the first of a set of two animations done as television bumpers for holidays that we were assigned in class. This particular one is a text animation for the last day of the muslim holy month of Ramadan. The pages of the Qur'an were made in photoshop, made up of important Surahs (prayers) from the book itself and written in arabic. The animation is done in After Effects.

Rube Goldberg

This is a Rube Goldberg inspired animation done in After Effects with the use of realistic pictures. The goal was to create a believable environment in which to bring Rube's old inventions to life, and this was the result.

Au Clair de la Lune

This is a typographic poster done to convey the feeling or overall emotion of the short poem or song that we chose. This is a french folk song from the 18th century titled "Au Clair de la Lune" (By the Light of the Moon).

Jabs

This is just an illustration that I did of a friend of mine, a digital painting done in Corel.

Invisible Visuals

This was a sophomore logo design and animation project. We had to create a company around a specific job, film editing for me, and design a logo and logo animation along with it. My process was that if done correctly, film editing is an invisible art form, that you won't even notice it if it's perfectly carried out. Thus, the name Invisible Visuals was born and this animation with it.

iFly

Instrumental

Mt Eden Dubstep

iFly was a joint venture, split just about even between Justin Timmons and myself. This is a Eadweard Muybridge inspired animation, in which Muybridge meets 2010. The piece was done in traditional animation and stop motion and finally edited in After Effects. The instrumental version includes a licensed audio track, which is a bit softer. The dubstep version contains an unlicensed audio track by the artist Mt Eden, who I e-mailed and was given permission to use for school related and personal use.

Cutout Animation

This is one of the oldest animations I have, a paper cutout animation inspired by Lotte Reiniger. This was a piece done for a hypothetical client, the new SYFY channel. We were given pre-made soundtracks around which to form our animations.
